MATCHA AND MORE AT NEW COFFEE AND TEA SHOP
Woodshed Coffee and Tea now open next to Blue Seven in Nichols Hills.
OKLAHOMA CITY, September 14, 2018 — A new shop hits the OKC coffee scene this month, specializing in loose-leaf teas, single-origin coffee and a unique matcha green tea blend. Woodshed Coffee & Tea is now open to the public from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday at their retail location near May and Grand.
Woodshed got its start selling curated teas and matcha latte mix to retailers in Oklahoma, Utah, Texas and Arkansas. Now, founder Sam DuRegger and co-owners Dave Chong, Brad Ulrich and Logan Waugh have opened a modern retail space in Nichols Hills—an area without much of a local coffeeshop presence.
“We’re excited to bring our curated selection of coffee and tea to this market,” said DuRegger. “We aren’t looking to become the next trend, but we hope to be a presence in our neighborhoods and the larger OKC community.”
The storefront is connected to clothing store Blue Seven and its local-goods partner Just OK, so shop-goers can spend time in Woodshed’s cafe or walk freely between retailers. Customers can expect an array of craft coffee drinks and loose-leaf teas, as well as homemade pastries including some gluten-free options. Woodshed’s specialty and current customer favorite? Matcha lattes made with oat milk.
“Our matcha blend is subtly sweet, and the oat milk gives it a really smooth finish,” said Waugh, retail manager and co-owner. “Even people who don’t typically like matcha have really loved it.”
Woodshed’s grand opening party is scheduled for Saturday, September 22, and will include a limited supply of free cold brew tea and free t-shirts for the first 100 guests.
Woodshed Coffee & Tea strives to responsibly source quality loose-leaf tea and single-origin coffee for the enjoyment of our customers, even to the last drop. Inspired by our founder’s childhood years spent on a farm, where toil in the woodshed in the summer brought warmth in the winter, Woodshed operates on the values of inspiration, sincerity, stewardship, responsibility and design. Woodshed has been featured on BonAppetit.com and Sprudge.com. Find out more at WoodshedTea.com.
